Home / CRP UniqTrust introduces the anti-counterfeiting digital identity system for Windform components

A component's provenance has traditionally relied on documentation and certifications. CRP Group has decided to make it a property of the part itself: with the adoption of CRP UniqTrust, a digital traceability and anti-counterfeiting system, components made in Windform can now leave the facility already carrying a digital identity that certifies their authenticity on receipt.
The principle is deliberately simple: a hidden, physically non-replicable microchip protected by military-grade encryption is embedded in the part's packaging. Whoever is authorized holds a phone near it and instantly gets proof that it is a genuine part from CRP's lines. No app to download, no procedure to learn. Behind that gesture, however, runs an architecture built to withstand the scrutiny of the most demanding sectors: aerospace, motorsport and defense.
The system’s robustness rests not on a generic label but on a precise verification mechanism: each component carries a unique identifier whose status is managed in real time, recognizing only the correct version of the part and immediately blocking any unauthorized access attempt - stopping non-genuine parts before they reach the supply chain.
"For us, this isn't simply about applying a smart label," explains Franco Cevolini, CEO and CTO of CRP Group. "We chose to give our clients' components a digital identity of their own - one that stays with them even after they leave our facilities. It's the same culture of innovation we apply in production, now extended to traceability: a component able to tell its own story at every point along its journey. It's a step consistent with how we've always moved: anticipating the requirements of the most demanding sectors, rather than chasing them."
The European Union is progressively introducing the Digital Product Passport, the digital dossier intended to accompany many categories of industrial products throughout their entire life cycle. By adopting today a digital identity infrastructure consistent with the direction taken by this regulatory evolution, CRP Group is positioning itself ahead of many companies that have yet to address it.
UniqTrust is available to CRP Group customers on components made with Windform composites. A part’s digital identity can be enriched, upon request, with customized documentation - conformity certificates, drawings and quality reports - accessible directly from a smartphone and available at any time to authorized operators.
A system designed to strengthen supply chain integrity and increase trust throughout the component's entire life cycle.
A solution of this kind, combining authentication, anti-counterfeiting and digital traceability in a single system, is not currently offered by other operators in the advanced composites additive manufacturing sector.
Developed in collaboration with Contatto Divino, a division of Pengo Idee Onlife.
