Composite 3D Printing and High-Performance Metals for Sport
Home / Industries / Sport
Built to win, tailored to the athlete
CRP Group works alongside athletes, federations, brands and sports-equipment designers to create gear that has to perform under load, adapt to the individual athlete and hold up in competition. As an integrated group we provide precision 5-axis CNC machining, SLS 3D printing in Windform® composites and DMLS – CNC-finishing additive parts, in Windform® or metal, where the geometry calls for it – to deliver components validated and proven in competition: from prototypes to pre-series, through to small and medium production batches.
Key capabilities
Personalised fit
Shape and fit generated from each athlete's morphological data
Single-piece, race-ready parts
No assembly: structures printed in one piece, ready to compete
Lightweight, no trade-off
Lattices and hollowing remove grams, not strength or integrity
Built to take a hit
Absorb repeated impact and vibration and withstand fatigue without breaking
Additive and subtractive, integrated
SLS, DMLS and 5-axis CNC coordinated by a single point of contact
Regulation-compliant
Validated through FEA and matched to the shapes and dimensions set by federations
Custom-fit equipment
Protective gear & shells
Technical footwear
Ergonomic grips
Equipment that reads the athlete
In sport there is no one-size-fits-all. Starting from a 3D scan and biomechanical analysis of the individual athlete, SLS 3D-prints functional structures as a single, mould-free piece – soles and structural cages, grips and handles, protective shells – shaped on the body that will use them.
Internal lattices and hollowing cut weight without sacrificing strength or integrity, while reinforced Windform® composites absorb shock and vibration and resist friction and fatigue race after race. No tooling means design freedom and fast delivery, with parts ready to compete straight off the build.
When performance calls for metal
Some answers are only found in metal. CRP Meccanica machines titanium, aluminium and brass on 5 axes, builds ultra-light DMLS metal parts with lattice and hollow geometries no mill could reach. Titanium hitting surfaces, calibrated metal weights for swing and balance, hybrid metal–Windform® assemblies: every component is finished to tight tolerances and tuned for the mass and stiffness the discipline demands.
From the idea to the finish line
One partner, every technology. Whatever the brief – wearable, structural, impact-absorbing or finely weighted – CRP covers the whole arc: aesthetic and functional mockups, validated prototypes, small and medium batches, limited runs and per-athlete mass customization. From the first file to the part that crosses the line, with nothing lost along the way.
