With MoRe Modena Racing at Formula SAE Michigan: CRP advanced technology for the future

May 8, 2026

CRP Group continues to support Formula Student world champions MoRe Modena Racing; first appointment at Formula SAE Michigan, May 13–16, 2026, with the updated racing prototype M26-LH featuring new aluminum hubs by CRP Meccanica

A moment of rest and discussion during a track testing session ahead of the Michigan trip

For over 50 years, CRP companies have operated at the intersection of high-performance manufacturing and knowledge transfer. In 2024, CRP Meccanica and CRP Technology formalized this commitment through a two-year, renewable, technical partnership with MoRe Modena Racing (MMR), the Formula Student team of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, a collaboration that has since evolved into something far beyond a standard technical sponsorship. The partnership has been renewed for the 2026–2027 period.

Formula Student World Ranking #1: history made

On January 17, 2026, the official Formula Student World Ranking confirmed what the track results had already demonstrated: MoRe Modena Racing is the first Italian team to reach the absolute top of the world rankings in the Internal Combustion (IC) category. Three consecutive victories in the 2024 season with the M24-LH racing prototype - at Formula Student Austria (Red Bull Ring), Formula Student Alpe Adria (Bugatti Rimac Test Track, Croatia), and Formula Student Italy - followed by strong results in 2025, placed the Modena-based team at the pinnacle of global Formula Student competition.

CRP Group's advanced manufacturing solutions have been an integral part of this journey.

Formula SAE Michigan 2026: birthplace of a global competition

From May 13 to 16, 2026, MoRe Modena Racing will compete in the United States for the first time, at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. This is the founding venue of Formula SAE, where the first competition was held in 1981. Today it brings together teams from the world’s top engineering universities.

MMR will race as Team #32 alongside 119 other teams. Their updated M26-LH features newly machined Ergal 7075 aluminum hubs manufactured from solid billet by CRP Meccanica - a high-strength, aerospace-grade alloy chosen for its optimal strength-to-weight ratio, machined to precise tolerances on CRP’s latest CNC machining centers.

"For us, being represented by companies that are part of our Motor Valley is an honor and a privilege. We could not be where we are without their substantial contribution. CRP above all has been our supporter for years, and we could not be more honored by that. It is thanks to the support of every one of them that we are able to make our dreams a reality!" - Filippo Pullano, MoRe Modena Racing, Team Leader

Engineering education as a core mission

CRP's involvement with Formula Student teams is not a marketing exercise. It is a direct expression of the Group's long-standing mission: to use advanced manufacturing expertise as a vehicle for educating the next generation of engineers.

Michigan: Modena's engineering excellence on the world stage

The American debut is a statement: the manufacturing excellence that CRP has developed over five decades in Modena is competitive anywhere in the world. Investing in the talent of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is investing in the future of Italian engineering.

CRP Group will be following the event closely. Go, team!

Update (27/05/2026). Formula SAE Michigan 2026: the results

Michigan lived up to its reputation for unpredictability. Due to severe logistical and shipping delays beyond the team's control, the M26-LH only arrived at the circuit on Friday, leaving MoRe Modena Racing with a single day to face and pass all static and dynamic tests before competing.
It is precisely in moments like these that a team's real value is revealed. MMR responded with focus, determination, and the kind of composure that only comes from deep engineering preparation. The results confirm it:

  • 2nd place at the Design Event
  • 3rd place in Acceleration
  • 12th place overall

The 12th place overall is not the result the team had set their sights on, and they are the first to say so. But the two event results, achieved under extraordinary pressure, speak directly to the quality of a project built with rigor and ambition.

"It is precisely in the face of adversity that a team's value is revealed. Instead of giving up, we raced against time: in a single day, we faced and passed all the static and dynamic tests, demonstrating to everyone what we are capable of. We return home more united than ever and proud to have fought until the last second." - MoRe Modena Racing

CRP Group is proud to stand alongside a team that knows how to compete on any circuit, under any conditions. See you at Silverstone.
