Advanced Manufacturing for Design Objects in Windform and Metals, custom production

Where aesthetics become function
In design, CRP makes beauty and function coexist in the same part: from mock-up to aesthetic prototype to the finished, working object – customised, true to design and ready to use. Depending on the goal, we choose between additive and subtractive technologies and an extensive range of materials: our Windform® thermoplastic composites, which we develop and print via SLS, and a broad span of metal alloys, including special ones, which we machine in-house, both additively and subtractively.

The freedom of Windform® for design
Our proprietary Windform® composites – carbon- or glass-fibre-reinforced, or rubber-like – are manufactured, via SLS, into geometries no mould could release, durable enough to run working mechanisms. Several grades have passed dermatological patch and metal-release testing within recognised standards; for design, Windform GT and LX 3.0 are the reference choices (LX 3.0 also validated for sensitive skin), already worn in real objects like the Collagene generative masks.
This makes them a documented basis for skin-contact wearables – jewellery elements and accessories, one-off or series -and for functional objects with working gears, hinges and snap-fits.
They also suit faithful scale models of furniture, lighting and architectural pieces, indoor and outdoor, and aesthetic covers and free-form sculptures, customised down to the single unit.
When the idea calls for metal
Some materials can’t be replaced. CRP Meccanica machines a wide range of metal alloys – titanium, light alloys, superalloys and other exotic materials – from prototype to small and medium series. Precision CNC machining, with 5-axis milling and turning, achieves complex geometries and tight tolerances, completed by heat treatments and surface finishes such as anodising. Metal 3D printing (DMLS) with CNC finishing builds complex forms impossible to obtain from solid milling: lightweight structures, internal channels and optimised geometries, then finished at critical points for accuracy and surface quality.
