Why the Energy Sector Is Adopting 3D Printing in Windform

In Energy and Oil & Gas, Windform® composites replace metal in components constantly exposed to hydrocarbons, drilling fluids, salt water, and aggressive chemicals – environments where traditional polymers degrade and metal corrodes.

CRP prints cooling circuit blades, turbine rotors, sensor housings, flow management parts, and protective covers through professional SLS, moving directly from CAD to validated hardware with no tooling, no minimum order, and design iterations in days. Each part is engineered for the specific operating conditions through dedicated DFAM consultancy.

When the Application Demands Metal

Valve bodies in Inconel, pump housings in titanium, downhole tools in 17-4 PH steel, cast aluminum manifolds – CRP Meccanica selects the most efficient production path for each part: 5-axis CNC machining from solid for maximum precision, DMLS for complex internal geometries impossible to machine conventionally, or Rapid Sand Casting for larger components that would be uneconomical from billet. Each technology is completed with CNC finishing, in-house heat treatment, and dimensional inspection – one facility, three metal manufacturing routes, one quality standard.
